Rage; The legendary Bane of Demons – along with High Mage Nicodemus, Princess Ariane, and Tuk have all been sent on a new quest by Kothas, King of Arthkan.
Having learned that Tuk is in possession of a powerful lucky charm that was once his – the Bracelet of Chance – and magically unable to take it by force, the sorcerer Erasmus has been trying to no avail to convince the little vagrant to give it to him. Following Rage and his companions closely, Erasmus and the werewolf Serk have devised a plan to isolate Tuk. After ordering Serk to change a group of soldiers into werewolves, Erasmus then boosted their powers and sicced the creatures on Rage, believing Tuk would be able to survive their onslaught by sheer luck. Erasmus would then have a better chance of persuading Tuk to give him the Bracelet.
But an ominous thought is crawling inside the sorcerer’s mind: isn’t all this a little too much, even for Tuk? What if the bracelet gets lost in the slaughter? Poisoned by doubt and dread, Erasmus is running toward the camp with Serk, to help Tuk escape.
The second issue of the Rage Compilation Series contained Rage #3 and Rage #4! This compilation series has been for a time available exclusively in print at Amazon, and digitally on Kindle. Since it was an Amazon exclusive, every Rage Compilation issue was also on KDP Select, so that Kindle subscribers could read it for free.
The good news was that you had a new Rage cover by Dynamite’s Carlos Paul, and that it was the only Rage book available to Kindle subscribers. And if you didn’t own Rage #3 and Rage #4 yet, it was cheaper to buy this compilation on Kindle!
Then one day, Amazon decided to terminate my KDP Publisher Account.
After having been published on Amazon Createspace, and then Amazon Kindle for mostly fifteen years, all my books have been deleted in January 2026, and I’ve been banned from creating a new account, for activities on my account attempting to manipulate Kindle services, violation of policies relative to my account, and violation of their Terms and Conditions.
When I asked for explanations, KDP Tech Support answered that according to Kindle’s policy, they reserve the right to not divulge information they consider as sensible data.
This means that all my books have been censored by Amazon without any detailed explanation.
After investigating, I noticed that this type of account deletion happened to many auto-publishers before me. A few got their accounts back after many appeals, others didn’t. Some of them called the services of lawyers who specialize in account deletion (it seems there are a few, because there’s money to be made obviously), and spent an amount of money I deem too high to retrieve their accounts (and I’m not even sure that it’s a final amount). Others finally called the services of an aggregator, some of whom would also handle all of their other accounts. For me it’s too many eggs in the same basket, and it contributes to make independent publishers more and more… dependents. And even with the obvious financial loss, I’m still attached to my independence (even if it’s relative, since I obviously depend on the mood changes and bugs of Tech Support Agents for my different accounts).
So I’m handling the appeals myself, and don’t expect to have my account back anytime soon.
So this means… No more Rage Compilation Series. I’m currently planning to print a Trade Paperback of the first six issues of the Rage Series instead. I’ll keep you posted.
