Hi Guys!
Here are Rage's weekly news!
• Pages 21-28 are now available in the Preview Section! In advance, since I am making some tests to prevent the hacking of the site (see below).
• hacked by Tn_Scorpion. Yeah, site's been hacked… Finding a workaround seems easy enough, since Tn_Scorpion is just replacing the index page, not the whole site. Cool music, though…
• Price adjustment: New prices are now $2.99 for the iPhone and $3.99 for the iPad, which is still low for 60+ pages and all the functionnalities. Promotion period is finished and… Oh, what's the use… Actually, I'm trying to adjust the prices to better fit the price of the new PDF eBook. The iPad version still looks more interesting than the eBook version because of the added functionnalities, but you can't beat double-page spreads in widescreen on a computer screen. The only annoying thing is that in most cases, you have to sit on a chair to read it.
• App update : Still nothing. I sent the iPad update to Apple last week and it's still not online. I don't know what Apple is doing, but I do know they should hire more people.
• Promotion. No App update, no promotion. At this time, the iPad App is crashing every 20 pages or so on iOS 5, which is annoying. Update is on its way, and will allow you to read the whole book without crashes, but as I said, Apple still hasn't posted it yet. So, what can I say? If you haven't updated yet your iPad to iOS 5, you can read the book without crashes. If you have, you can read 20+ pages, wait for the book to crash, relaunch the app, click the Thumbnails bar to go to the latest page, and continue reading. Or you can wait a few days before buying the app…
Update: The apps are here at last! With iOS5 compatibility with the first iPad! Back to promotion, now!
• Rage eBook. eBook version is here, at last. The eCommerce system has actually taken longer to implement than I thought, because I had to wait for companies to answer me (and some of them don't work on week-ends). It seems the only real choice was between Paypal and eSellerate, and I chose eSellerate. So, you can now buy Rage, Bane of Demons, as a PDF eBook. If you want it in other formats, like cbr, cbz, or ePub, you just have to write me, and I will add these versions as well on the sales page.
• Rage Portfolio : Now that the eCommerce system is finished, I can at last work on the portfolio. I can't do much more at this time, because I haven't much time to work on the Rage Project. The good news is that all the projects I'm working on right now will help me pay for the portfolio. The bad news is that it will take me a week to do the DTP. But it will happen.
And that's all for this week!
Eric
